Hi! I’m Ava, a second-year student majoring in Nursing with a minor in Gender, Health, and Health Care Equity. I come from a super tiny town called Fort Madison, Iowa, that has given me a passion for improving health equity, especially in incarcerated populations. Outside of classes, I work in the Emergency Room at UIHC and as Research Assistant for the College of Public Health. I am also the Educational Director for the Chi Omega Women’s Fraternity. I love to go on walks, hangout with my cats, and watch horror movies in my free time!
