Hi everyone, I'm Hiruni Sumanasiri, a first-year student majoring in microbiology and neuroscience on the pre-med track. I'm excited to be on the external committee in the honors diversity council. I've had a great time with the honors program so far, and I look forward to many good memories as my time at uiowa continues! Aside from the DEI council, I am a research student at the cancer institute, I work as CNA on the medical surgical unit at the University of Iowa hospital. I also volunteer at the UIHC mobile clinic as well as the operating room at the main hospital! Outside of my educational work I love spending time with my German shepherd, watching cooking shows, and shopping!
