Hi! My name is Hiruni (/her-roo-knee/) and I am majoring in microbiology on the pre-med track with minors in global health and psychology. I've had a great time being in the honors program, and my biggest highlight is getting to meet all of the students with different backgrounds! Aside from being a peer mentor, I volunteer at the food pantry on campus and I spend lots of time at my research lab! Outside of academia you can find me lounging outside with a good book, playing tennis, or heading for a swim with my friends! 

One of the most asked questions I get from my mentees is how I am planning on completing my experiential learning: I am doing this through getting honors in my microbiology major. In order to do this I will be completing up to 6 credit hours of research and in my senior year I will complete a thesis with an advising committee from the Carver College of Medicine.
