What Are We Called?
You may hear many terms when you start at the University of Iowa. Our official title is The University of Iowa Honors Program.
When you graduate, you are awarded the notation of University Honors on your degree.
Honors in the Major is completed by upper-level coursework restricted to your department or major. Since these requirements are major specific, we don't oversee Honors in the Major (various departments do!).
Honors at Iowa is a short form version of our name, often seen on social media or marketing materials, or here, on our website!
