Since its inception in 1902, a total of 20 UI students have been awarded Rhodes Scholarships.

On Saturday, November 21, 2015, the American Rhodes Scholar Class of 2016 was elected.  UI Honors student, Jeffrey Ding was named one of the 32 extraordinary students who will begin their studies at the University of Oxford in October of 2016.  They were selected from a pool of 869 nominees from 316 colleges and universities, after 208 applicants from 93 schools participated in finalist interviews.  For more information on the Rhodes Scholarship, visit http://www.rhodesscholar.org/.
