Melinda works with ICRU to get students started in undergraduate research, build forums for presenting their research, and utilize their research in further career aspirations. She has a B.A. in Religion Studies (2007) and a B.S. in Biology (2013), both from the U of Iowa, and Master’s degree in Theological Studies (2010).
Melinda believes strongly that a research built on ethics, communication, collaboration, and intellectual practices are crucial for a positive future in society. She is excited to combine her love of research with her broad experiences across both the sciences and humanities to help students use research to discover themselves, find their passions, and build critical leadership skills.
Aside from research, Melinda loves spending time with her husband (Rusty) and their two greyhounds (Tango and Topaz), has a deep appreciation for all biological entities, and is always on the lookout for a cookie or cupcake.
