Hello! My name is Courtney Bright, and I am a third year student here at Iowa. I am a double major in English and Communication Studies with a Spanish minor. I grew up in a tiny town called Radnor, Ohio, and then lived in Iowa for five years. Although my family is back in Ohio, I am still at the wonderful University of Iowa!
I have a lot of different interests, but mostly I love to read, watch Netflix, and hang out with friends. My favorite thing to read is Shakespeare, but I also love to see his works performed. Aside from working at the Honors Center, I am also a Writing Fellow and am involved in Cru, a student ministry on campus, and Dance Marathon!
I came to the University of Iowa for a couple different reasons, including its wide variety of majors to choose from (I had no idea what I wanted to study when I came here!) and the Honors Program. The University of Iowa is blessed with an incredible Honors Program, and I'm thrilled to be involved in it. My first two years at Iowa I lived on campus in the Honors LLC.
As a student staff member of the Honors Program, I am involved in the Outreach team with three other students. We work to promote the honors events and let you all know what the honors program is up to!
You can find me at the 3rd floor desk a few days each week, and I would love to meet you and talk about the Honors Program and the University!
