Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarships

The Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarships send students to study or research in a foreign country, with more than seventy countries available each year.  The purpose is to promote friendly relations among people of different countries.  Applicants should have GPAs over 3.5.  Each also must show a sustained commitment to service and leadership, proficiency in the language of the host country, and a genuine commitment to the Rotary ideals.

The University of Iowa Honors Program works with local Rotary Clubs in nominating students for the awards.  Deadlines vary but generally fall between February and April.  Interested students should contact the Honors Scholarship Director by the preceding January.

The University of Iowa’s most recent Rotary winners are Brett Johnson and Abbie Sawyer.
