Places

Honors at Iowa is its places.  These are places to live, places to learn, places to work, places to play.  All are places for advice and action.  All are places for fun and for friends to meet.  In fact, we enjoy our places as some of the best available anywhere for honors education.

In the cyber sense, these places begin here, with this website.  If you are visiting from afar or operating from the Iowa campus, we hope you find these web pages to be helpful resources.  In the pop-out menu for Places on the left are links for exploring additional places of importance to Honors at Iowa.

In the physical sense, our home is the Iowa Honors Connection.  It is the complex of eastside buildings that begin with the award-winning Blank Honors Center.  That links by skywalk to the Honors House filling Daum Residence Hall next door.  And it extends into Honors Clusters taking shape in neighboring facilities.

In the residential sense, honors education in the Iowa style often begins in our living-learning communities.  The Honors House is the largest, and it is a community for Honors Students that features a general concern with honors education.  The others are topical communities open to students who share specific interests and talents.

And in the administrative sense, Honors spans all undergraduate education on the campus by operating in the University College.  This means that the Honors Program reports to the Office of the Provost and Executive Vice President, while connecting through the Honors Steering Committee to all the undergraduate colleges at Iowa.
