Honors Steering Committee

 

Policies for Honors at Iowa are the province of the Honors Steering Committee.  Its members contribute expertise from different parts of the University of Iowa to help tailor Honors initiatives to diverse settings for educational challenges.

 

The dozen or so members of the Steering Committee

brainstorm possibilities, approve initiatives, and make policies for Honors at Iowa.  The Steering Committee usually meets three times a semester.

 

The Honors Director convenes the Steering Committee, appointing its members to renewable two-year terms in consultation with the Committee.  They represent the major constituencies of the Honors Program throughout the University of Iowa, including the undergraduate colleges.
