Honors Director John S. Nelson has a PhD in politics and philosophy from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is a Professor for Political Science, International Programs, and the Project on Rhetoric of Inquiry. John teaches political communication and theory, especially for popular culture in America. Honors Associate Director Robert F. Kirby has a PhD in biopsychology from Virginia. Bob directs the Iowa Center for Research by Undergraduates, and he is an Adjunct Associate Professor in Psychology. His interests are neural control, human behavior, the effects of drugs, and their processes of action. Beyond the University of Iowa, Bob loves to spend time outdoors. Honors Scholarships Director Andrea Beloy has a MEd in College Student Services Administration from Oregon State and a BS in Computer Science from Minnesota State in Mankato. She coordinates scholarship opportunities for Honors Students, cultivating their talents to seek major awards from the Honors Program, other universities, and major foundations. | Honors Activities Director LaShelle Christensen has a BA in psychology and an MS in epidemiology, both from Iowa. LaShelle leads the Honors Student Staff in creating and conducting activities for Honors Students throughout the campus. Honors Advising Director Holly Yoder has completed a MA degree in Student Development in Postsecondary Education at the University of Iowa in May 2009. She has lived and worked abroad in Zambia, Lesotho and, most recently, Ethiopia. Currently she lives on a farm in rural Wellman. Honors Experiential Learning Director Andrew Willard has an AB in anthropology from Stanford and a PhD-equivalent in public policy from Yale. He is president of The Policy Sciences Center, Inc. and the Society of Policy Scientists, while serving on the editorial board of Policy Sciences. Andy teaches human rights and policy analysis. ICRU Undergraduate Research Coordinator Katie Wildman is a doctoral student in Student Affairs Administration and Research.
