Awards from Iowa Honor Societies

Mom and Dad of the Year

The Mom and Dad of the Year Awards recognize two of the many outstanding parents who support their students at the University of Iowa.  Each autumn, with help from the University of Iowa Parents’ Association, Mortar Board and Omicron Delta Kappa choose the winners based on personal achievements and dedication to their families.  Honors at Iowa advises the local chapters of these two national honor societies.

Any student at the University of Iowa may nominate a parent for the award.  Forms for nominations may be secured at the Office of Student Life in the Iowa Memorial Union or the Honors Information Desk on the third floor of the Blank Honors Center. Presentation of the awards typically takes place during the home football game at the annual Family Weekend for the University of Iowa.
